The project "Days of Our Lives: a real-time social system" examines the real-time passage of a daytime drama since its inception in 1965 and its effect on viewers who accept the story and its characters into their daily lives.

A special feature of the soap is its loyal cast who spend decades faithful to character. An August 2008 segment celebrated the real-time 25th anniversary of the couple Bo and Hope.
